Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SharedSnap (the “Service”), whether as an event host with a registered account or as a guest uploading media, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SharedSnap (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

SharedSnap is an event media collection platform that allows event hosts to generate a QR code through which guests can upload photos, videos, and audio messages without creating an account or downloading an app. The Service includes event management tools, a shared gallery, audio guestbook functionality, RSVP management, photo challenges, and album download features.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

3. User Accounts

Event hosts must register for an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • All activity that occurs under your account, including uploads by guests to your events.
  • Ensuring that the information you provide during registration is accurate and kept up to date.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe are being used for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

4. Guest Usage

Guests (individuals who upload content via an event QR code or link without a registered account) are also subject to these Terms. By uploading any content to a SharedSnap event, guests agree to the content standards and licensing provisions set out in Sections 6 and 7 below.

Event hosts are responsible for ensuring that guests are aware of these Terms before uploading. We recommend including a reference to these Terms when sharing your event QR code.

5. Plans and Payments

5.1 Available Plans

SharedSnap offers the following per-event plans:

Plan features and pricing are subject to change. We will provide reasonable notice of any price changes before they take effect. Changes do not affect purchases already completed.

5.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through LemonSqueezy, a third-party payment processor. By completing a purchase, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's terms of service. SharedSnap does not store your payment card details.

All plans are one-time purchases per event — there are no recurring charges. Your plan period begins on your selected event date, not the purchase date.

5.3 Refund Policy

Because SharedSnap provides digital services that are immediately available upon purchase, all sales are final and non-refundable once a plan has been activated (i.e., once the upload or storage window has begun). If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing the Service, please contact us at support@sharedsnap.com and we will work to resolve the issue.

If you have not yet activated your plan (the event date has not begun and no uploads have been made), you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by contacting support.

6. Content Standards and Prohibited Uses

You are solely responsible for all content you upload to the Service. You agree not to upload, share, or otherwise make available any content that:

  • Is illegal under applicable law, including content that constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that incites violence or hatred.
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
  • Contains malware, viruses, or any other harmful or malicious code.
  • Is used to harass, bully, or threaten any individual.
  • Is deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading.
  • Violates any person's right to privacy, including uploading photos or videos of individuals without their consent.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these standards and to suspend or terminate the accounts of repeat offenders without notice or refund.

Event hosts who enable the upload approval feature acknowledge responsibility for reviewing and approving content before it is visible to other guests.

7. Content Ownership and License

You retain full ownership of all photos, videos, and audio content you upload to SharedSnap (“User Content”). We do not claim ownership of your content.

By uploading content, you grant SharedSnap a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service (e.g., generating presigned URLs, creating ZIP downloads, displaying content in the gallery). This license terminates when your content is deleted.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to upload your content and to grant the license above, and that your content does not violate anyone else's rights.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All uploaded content is automatically and permanently deleted when your event's storage period expires. SharedSnap does not archive or retain content beyond the storage period associated with your plan (see Section 5.1). Once deleted, content cannot be recovered.

We strongly recommend that event hosts download their full album before their storage period ends. You can do this from your event dashboard at any time while the event is active.

Free-tier events are automatically deleted 7 days after creation. We will not provide advance notice for free-tier deletions.

9. Technical Limitations

The following limits apply to all uploads:

  • Maximum file size per upload: 500 MB.
  • Free plan: maximum of 20 total uploads per event. Uploads will be rejected once this limit is reached.
  • Upload access is time-gated: guests can only upload during the active upload window defined by your plan.

SharedSnap reserves the right to adjust these technical limits at any time. We will notify active paid plan holders of any reductions.

10. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information in connection with the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

Event hosts are responsible for ensuring that the collection of personal data from guests (including names and uploaded media) complies with applicable privacy laws in their jurisdiction.

11. Third-Party Services

SharedSnap integrates with third-party services including but not limited to cloud storage providers (AWS S3 or compatible) and LemonSqueezy for payment processing. These services have their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

12. Intellectual Property

The SharedSnap platform, including its design, code, trademarks, logos, and all content created by SharedSnap (excluding User Content), is the exclusive property of SharedSnap and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without our prior written consent.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

We are not responsible for the loss of any content due to service disruption, technical failure, or expiry of a storage period. We strongly recommend maintaining your own backup copies of important media.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHAREDSNAP AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ₱500, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SharedSnap and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any third party's rights.

16. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@sharedsnap.com. Upon account deletion, your events and associated content will be permanently removed from our servers.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without prior notice if you violate these Terms or if we determine that your actions pose a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties. Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts of the Philippines.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
